UF MEDLIFE Medical Trip
I volunteered with Medicine, Education and Development for Low Income Families Everywhere (MEDLIFE) in Cusco, Peru over my spring break in 2016. This was an amazing opportunity where I got hands-on experience and got to work at the Mobile Clinic with two different general doctors, an OBGYN, a dentist and at the triage station. I learned how to properly use a stethoscope, I took the patients' vitals and on my last day I got to help build an oven.
Study Abroad
I decided to study abroad in Viterbo, Italy with USAC in the spring of 2015. I had a wonderful time and meet some of the most fascinating people whom I still talk to today. I traveled all over Europe and immersed myself in different cultures. I engaged with the locals, got lost, went out of my comfort zones and created precious memories that I will never forget.
AMSA Medical Trip with Maximo Nivel
This was a very meaningful medical trip in San Jose, Costa Rica and truly humbling. I got to work on two different projects: Red de Cuido Los Cuadros and Hogar de Ancianos Carlos Maria Ulloa. I went with a group of students from AMSA,a pre-health organization at the University of Florida. Along the way, we became very close and got to experience this life-changing trip together. We took vitals, worked with elders and kids and learned about the infrastructure and problems in San Jose.
